Fanoe is the perfect location for biking. Short distances and nice bicyclepaths, small roads and a huge beach.

Biking on Fanoe is for everyone. Short distances and no inclines. The landscape varies from beach and dunes, to forest and heath.

The bike paths connect the residencial areas in Nordby, Fanoe Bad, Rindby Strand and Sønderho.

The beach from Fanoe Bad to Sønderho makes a perfect bicycle path. Strong winds can sometime create little sand dunes on the beach, which makes it a bit more difficult to ride. 

You may also use the small roads, and paths all over the island for biking.

Below two examples of biking routes on Fanø: 
ROUTE 1:Nordby-Sønderho-Nordby:
Lenght: approx. 30 km
This trip is also called "Around Fanoe".
One way you ride on the bicycle road between Nordby and Sønderho. The other way you ride along the beach. It is a nice day trip. Make a stop at the Skovlegepladsen (the Forest Playground) and at Sønderho Old Duck Decoy. When arriving at Sønderho,  park the bicycles at the bus station and explore this small, idyllic town by foot.
On the way back to Nordby you go along the beach. 

ROUTE 3: Nordby-Halen-Pælebjerg-Nordby.
Length: 25 km
This trip is for the nature lovers enjoying the peace and a bit more challenging trip.
When riding to the east side of Fanoe you go on sandy paths and you sometimes have to get of the bicycle and push. The nature is, however, fantastic and you will not meet many other "travellers". The path leads along Fanø Klitplantage (the plantation) and the view over the marsh meadows is breathtaking. The path and the meadows are privately owned, so please be considerate and stay on the path. You start in the North and ride a halfcircle towards the South; here the landscape again changes  - to dune heath  and plantation. After a few kilometers you meet the gravel road leading to the Albue Duck Decoy and the mainrod between Nordby and Sønderho.
