Fanoe is expanding
The wide beaches of Fanoe are getting bigger and bigger. New dunes are created on the beach. The dynamics of nature and its effect on the landscape is easy to see on the westcoast of Fanoe.
The ongoing changes can be observed in the area north of Fanoe Bad, called "Søren Jessens Sand". It used to be a spit of land with water on both sides, but is now an integrated part of Fanoe. The part closest to the older dunes is now a swamp like area.
Further south at Rindby Strand, the beach is now twice as big as it was only 70 years ago.
The beach is now so big, that some of the roughest plants can grow on the beach which helps the formation of new dunes.
Cars on the Beach
It is allowed to drive and park your car on the beach between Fanoe Bad and Sønderho. However, please be considerate of walkers, cyclists and playing kids. Max velocity is 30 km/hour.
