Sonderho Guitar FestivalThe Sønderho Guitar Festival is Denmark’s oldest guitar festival. Since 1986 it has been possible each July and August to see some of the best classical guitarist in the world at the Sønderho Chuch, the festival’s hometown.
Julian Bream, Hopkinson Smith, David Russel, Göran Söllscher, Alvaro Pierri, Marco Socias and Timo Korhonen are just some of the many names which have performed in front of a loyal audience by now.
Besides these star soloists presented in the festival, focus is on presenting the guitar, diverse facets of chamber music, the new and old music and on flamenco
The Sønderho Guitar Festival was founded by Jørgen Bjørslev and is still being led by him today. He is a tutor at the Jutlandic Academy of Music in Esbjerg. Bjørslev has a considerable international career as a classical guitarist and he performs every year at the festival, like other leading Danish names.
All concerts start at 20.00 hours. Tickets at the entrance from 19.00 hours on the days of the concersts.
